Cathedrals - Various locations
I love cathedrals, they're just so ... impressive - which I think was the intent. Riding the train to Chartres in France, you can see the spires of Chartres Cathedral long before you're anywhere near the town. Salisbury Cathdral is awesome as well in its sheer size - but these buildings are beautiful as well as huge.
